Rebecca wore our Rosa gown customised with beautiful flowing detachable cape.

When did you know you’d found the dress for you?

It really came down to how I felt in it that day, rather than how I looked. I also really didn’t know what I wanted but I knew it had to be relaxed, informal, and allow me to still feel like myself. I then tried on the Rosa and instantly loved how flattering and unique it was.

How did you find the process of having a dress made to measure and customised for you?

It made me feel so much more confident knowing that every inch of the dress would be made to fit and flatter my shape – instead of the pressure to conform and mould yourself to fit into the dress, make the dress do that for you! Mirka is an incredible designer and dressmaker so I felt in safe hands every step of the way.

The detachable cape is such a great idea, what made you decide on adding something to the dress?

I felt that as I had decided not to have a veil, I still wanted that “veil floating in the wind” moment. The idea of having detachable material at the shoulders allowed me to have that while also elevating the dress at the same time giving it a more ethereal, elegant feel.

What is your favourite picture from your wedding day and why is this image so special to you?

I think it would have to be the one where we are walking back up the aisle after the ceremony as our family and friends throw the petal confetti over us. It was the first photograph that we had a sneak preview of while we were on honeymoon and to be honest, it made me cry as it captured perfectly just how happy we were in that moment. Finally, do you have any advice for future brides visiting Mirka Bridal Couture? 

Be very open to having your mind changed and stepping outside of your comfort zone. You will have never come across the kind of dresses that Mirka designs which makes her store so special. Don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions and try to enjoy the experience!
