Iona chose a sustainable wedding dress from our With Love Mirka collection, made using recycled fabrics.
How would you describe your Mirka Bridal Couture experience?
I first seen the Mirka Bridal dresses at a wedding show and had a feeling that I’d find the one there. It was a bit of a drive for me due to coming from Glasgow, however it was so worth it! The shop is beautiful, the sales girls are so lovely and Mirka was so accommodating and welcoming from the start! I tried on so many I loved and Mirka was great from start to finish. I even noticed a tear in my dress 4 weeks before and took it to Mirka who repaired it there and then, she’s amazing!
Which dress did you wear and how did you know it was “The One”?
I wore Audrey, as soon as I put it on I knew. It was the comfiest dress EVER and both me and my mum cried. It felt like it was made for me as it fit like a glove and was like no other dress I’d ever seen, which is still true to this day!
Was choosing a sustainable wedding dress a big part of the decision making process?
It was certainly a selling point and intrigued me from when I initially heard about the fact the dresses were sustainably made. I think it is so important and we incorporated other sustainable elements into our wedding.
How did you feel in your dress on the day?
So comfortable! It just came together so well, and the matching veil just completed the look. I had a hoop added so I could wear the dress on my wrist to dance at night and I just didn’t want to take it off! Felt the most beautiful I’ve ever felt.
We love the boho style of your wedding. What was your biggest wedding inspiration?
We knew we wanted a rustic theme and felt the dress complimented everything so well from the flowers to the venue.
What is your favourite picture from your wedding day and why is this image so special to you?
Walking down the aisle with the confetti being thrown - you can can see how happy we were and it encapsulates how good a day it was, we were so relaxed and had the most fun ever all day!
Finally, do you have any advice for future brides visiting Mirka Bridal Couture?
Mirka will be open to any suggestions you have, the dresses are super comfortable and will be like no dresses you get anywhere else! Enjoy the experience as you only get to wear such a beautiful garment once!
