Sarah and Karim tied the knot on the Isle of Skye, in Scotland.
Sarah found her dream wedding dress at Mirka Bridal Couture. She wore a bespoke wedding dress with elements from our With Love, Mirka collection, creating a perfect combination of ‘Rhea’ and ‘Amelie’.
How would you describe your Mirka Bridal Couture experience?
I was so excited to start trying on wedding dresses. I had a vision in my head of what it would be like, and Mirka Bridal Couture was everything I imagined. It was the first shop I visited, and other bridal shops just didn't compare.
Why did you choose a bespoke wedding dress?
I wasn't planning on a bespoke wedding dress, but I loved the neckline and sleeves of Rhea and the skirt of Amelie. When Mirka suggested combining the two designs, I was delighted.
How did you find the process of having a custom wedding dress made?
For me, the process was easy, but maybe not so much for Mirka—she had to make the dress ! We had a few dress fittings to make sure everything was just right. I was blown away by how quickly my dress came together. It was amazing to see Mirka’s hard work and progress at each dress fitting.
What was your biggest wedding inspiration?
Pinterest; I think every bride must have a board of wedding dress ideas! I knew I wanted a dress with sleeves that was elegant and also practical for my outdoor wedding.
What is your favourite picture from your wedding day and why is this image so special to you?
One of my many favourite pictures from my wedding is this one, because it features the beautiful backdrop of our wedding ceremony. We were married under the Honeycomb rock at Elgol beach on the Isle of Skye. It snowed the morning of our wedding, which made for stunning views of the Cuillin mountain range.
Finally, do you have any advice for future brides visiting Mirka Bridal Couture?
My advice is to not worry about knowing your style before your visit. I never knew what style of dress I wanted and felt like this would be a problem but Mirka is so helpful and let me try on different designs to narrow down what felt most like me. I absolutely love my wedding dress and I can’t recommend Mirka enough, she is incredibly talented, and I wish her all the best for the future.
